Our Social Value Commitment
Pink Academy – Social Value Commitment
At Pink Academy, social value is embedded within the way we deliver education and support young people. Our training provision, safeguarding practices and community partnerships are designed to create positive outcomes not only for our learners, but also for their families, local schools, employers and the wider Salford community.
Our approach to social value supports our commitment to creating meaningful, measurable and lasting local impact.
Our Commitments
Supporting Local Young People
Pink Academy supports young people through Alternative Provision, NEET programmes and specialist post-16 education pathways. We provide a small, nurturing and supportive learning environment designed to help young people re-engage with education, build confidence, improve participation and work towards positive progression.
Our provision is particularly suited to learners who may find larger or mainstream educational environments difficult and who benefit from a more personalised approach.
Creating Employability & Skills Pathways
Through accredited nail and beauty training, learners develop practical technical skills alongside workplace behaviours, communication skills, confidence and an understanding of employment and self-employment.
We support progression into further education, apprenticeships, employment, self-employment and higher-level qualifications, helping learners develop the skills and confidence needed to move towards sustainable futures.
Supporting Maths, English and Wider Development
Pink Academy recognises that vocational achievement is only one part of a young person’s development. Functional Skills Maths and English can be incorporated alongside vocational learning where appropriate, helping learners develop essential skills that support future education, employment and independence.
Personal development, employability, communication and wider life skills are also embedded throughout our provision.
Promoting Inclusivity & Wellbeing
We provide personalised support for learners with a range of additional and special educational needs. Our approach recognises that some learners may have experienced barriers to education or require additional support to feel safe, comfortable and able to participate.
We aim to provide a respectful, inclusive and nurturing environment where individual needs are recognised and learners are encouraged to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
Giving Back to the Community
Pink Academy is committed to positive community engagement. We work with local schools, organisations and partners and provide opportunities for young people to experience vocational education and develop their aspirations.
We also support community and charitable activities where appropriate and seek opportunities to use our skills, facilities and experience to make a positive contribution to the communities we serve.
Boosting the Local Economy
Wherever possible, Pink Academy supports local businesses and suppliers. Our programmes also introduce young people to employment and entrepreneurship, including the skills required to work within the beauty industry or eventually establish their own businesses.
By supporting local young people to gain qualifications, skills and confidence, we aim to contribute to improved progression and economic participation within Salford and the wider Greater Manchester area.
Encouraging Sustainability
Pink Academy is committed to responsible working practices. We aim to minimise unnecessary waste, use resources responsibly and promote appropriate disposal and handling of products used within beauty and nail training.
Environmental awareness and responsible professional practice are reinforced with learners as part of their preparation for employment and the wider beauty industry.
Our Impact
Pink Academy supports young people to develop practical skills, achieve qualifications, improve confidence and wellbeing, and progress towards further education, employment, apprenticeships or self-employment.
We recognise that social value should result in meaningful outcomes rather than simply commitments on paper. We therefore review our activities and outcomes and retain appropriate evidence of the social value delivered through our provision.
Our Commitment
Pink Academy is committed to delivering positive social value alongside high-quality education and training.
Through inclusive education, skills development, progression support, community engagement, responsible working practices and investment in local young people, we aim to contribute to stronger communities and brighter futures across Salford.
